About The Enterprise Innovation Institute

The Enterprise Innovation Institute is Georgia Tech's economic development arm, comprised of more than a dozen programs. It's the largest and most comprehensive university-based program of its kind in the United States. Its core focus areas include entrepreneurship and startup development, business and industry growth, ecosystem development, and international outreach.

Georgia Tech Extension Professionals are research personnel assigned to fulfill the extension service mission of Georgia Tech to the State of Georgia and beyond. The Georgia Manufacturing Extension Partnership (GaMEP) helps manufacturers increase top-line growth and reduce bottom-line costs. With nine regional offices across the state, GaMEP offers a solution-based approach through coaching, implementation, and training in multiple areas including, but limited to: Strategic Planning developing and incorporating organization-wide strategies into overall business plan and day-to-day operational tactics; Innovation Management creating and sustaining a process to grow businesses and feed an ideation pipeline; Process Improvement applying continuous improvement solutions in lean (5S, value stream mapping, kanban, kaizen events, and more) to manufacturing plant and front-end processes; ISO Standards implementing and modifying quality- (ISO 9001), environmental- (ISO 14001), and energy-management (ISO 50001) systems.; Sustainability incorporating sustainable environmental and safety solutions.; Energy integrating best practices in energy efficiency and management; Technology Acceleration Locating and transferring technology to improve internal processes and/or market existing technology out to improve competitiveness into new adjacent markets. Job Summary

Primarily GaMEP Project Managers serve within the Georgia Tech MEP (Manufacturing Extension Partnership, GaMEP) of the Enterprise Innovation Institute (EI2). GaMEP Project Managers are responsible for initiating, conducting, reporting, and follow-up on technical projects for the focused (but not exclusive) client customer base defined as the small to mid-size manufacturer (<500 employees). GaMEP Project Mgrs. are expected to manage projects independently and report measurable outcomes through internal metric reporting systems required by federal sponsors. This specific position will report to the Group Manager for MEP Leadership Development Services and will be expected to have a strong background in executive-level human resource management and strategy.

Travel: Local, in-state, and occasional out-of-state travel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop GaMEP project opportunities from initiation through delivery.
  • Assist clients with building strong human resource management processes and employee development programs.
  • Partner with client leadership teams to develop and coach an organization's human resource and talent strategy.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to HR generalists, management, and other staff.
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs.
  • Advise best practices for learning and development programs and initiatives.
  • Conduct compliance training to meet federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR and employment law.
  • Facilitate leadership interpersonal skill training and team building.

Assist with the development of client employee incentive plans.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).

Rank in Research Extension Professional II

  • A Master's degree in in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or a related/relevant field, or related/relevant field and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, or
  • A Master's degree in in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or a related/relevant field, or related/relevant field and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or a related/relevant field or related/relevant field.

Rank in Sr. Extension Professional

A Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or related/relevant field and seven (7) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, or

A Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or related/relevant field and nine (9) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or

A Doctoral degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or related/relevant field and four (4) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Work Experience: 8-10 years of related experience with a strong HR and leadership development background, including facilitating Clifton Strengths.

Manufacturing Industry experience is preferred.

Preferred Certifications: SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.

Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, conflict-resolution, organizational, and analytical skills; knowledge of employment laws; proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to assess HRIS and talent systems.
