*Lead Software Engineer (Data Engineering Focus)* *Location:* Flexible / Hybrid / Onsite (depending on team needs)
*About the Role* We're looking for an experienced *Lead Software Engineer* with a strong foundation in *data engineering and modern software development* to join a highimpact technology team. In this role, you'll help design and build scalable, productiongrade systems while providing technical leadership and mentorship across the engineering organization. This is an opportunity to work on complex, highvolume data platforms that support critical business functions, collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering partners in a fastpaced environment. *What You'll Do* * *Architect & Build:* Design, develop, and deliver highquality, scalable software solutions aligned with business needs. * *Technical Leadership:* Serve as a goto technical expert, setting engineering best practices and mentoring junior engineers. * *Code Quality:* Lead code reviews to ensure reliability, maintainability, and adherence to modern development standards. * *CrossFunctional Collaboration:* Partner closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to translate requirements into robust solutions. * *Testing & Performance:* Write unit tests, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve system performance and stability. * *Documentation:* Create and maintain clear technical documentation covering architecture, design decisions, and workflows. * *Innovation:* Stay current on emerging technologies and industry trends, and proactively recommend improvements to tooling, frameworks, and processes. *What We're Looking For* * *7+ years of professional software engineering experience*, with a strong emphasis on datadriven systems. * Deep understanding of *software engineering fundamentals* and data engineering principles. * Proficiency in one or more of the following: *Python, C#, or JavaScript*. * Experience designing and building *scalable, maintainable systems* in cloudbased environments. * Working knowledge of *AWS services* such as IAM, Lambda, Step Functions, EKS, API Gateway, and S3 (depth in all services not required). * Experience with *SQL and NoSQL databases*, data modeling, and version control systems (Git). * Familiarity with *Agile/Scrum methodologies*. * Strong problemsolving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly. *Why Join Us* * Work on *complex, meaningful systems* that support largescale, dataintensive business operations. * Collaborate with a team of *highly skilled engineers* who value clean code, thoughtful architecture, and continuous learning. * Have real *technical influence*-from architectural decisions to engineering standards. * Grow your career in an environment that values *innovation, mentorship, and ownership*. *Job Type & Location* This is a Contract position based out of Newport Beach, CA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $72.00/hr.
