What you'll do

NarrowBand Solutions (NBS) seeks a Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to assist in leading internal development, capital, and contract programs. As an NBS DPM, you will epitomize program management excellence, you will digest new technology quickly, guide technical roadmaps, work with teams to generate customer solutions, gain consensus in building solutions to new challenges, engage with multiple customer groups, drive execution with a collaborative team, and ensure the customer's success.


The day-to-day

We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to join our Narrow Band Solutions (NBS) team. In this pivotal role, you'll work closely with the Program Manager, playing a key part in the successful execution of critical programs from inception through delivery. You'll be instrumental in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, contributing directly to the growth and success of the NBS business.

What You'll Do:

  • Support Program Leadership: Assist the individual coordinating the program in all aspects of program planning, execution, and closure, acting as their trusted second-in-command.
  • Drive Project Execution: Take ownership of specific work packages and tasks, ensuring they are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage Scope, Schedule, and Budget: Supervise and manage program boundaries, timeline, and financial plan, actively identifying and resolving risks and issues.
  • Coordinate Cross-Functional Teams: Facilitate seamless collaboration between engineering, operations, supply chain, finance, and other colleagues both inside and outside the organization.
  • Communication and Reporting: Prepare and present program updates, reports, and presentations to internal and external partners, maintaining clear and concise communication.
  • Risk Management: Participate in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of program risks and opportunities.
  • Customer Engagement: Support customer interactions, ensuring customer happiness and successful delivery of contractual obligations.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous refinement of processes and procedures involved in program management.

What you'll need

  • 5+ years of proven experience in program or project management within the aerospace, defense, telecommunications, or a related high-tech industry.
  • Proven experience managing complex technical projects with multiple partners.
  • Strong understanding of program management methodologies (e.g., Traditional, Agile, or Hybrid) and tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle scope, schedule, budget, and risks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Engineering, Science, or a related technical field.
  • US Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residence required due to government contract requirements.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%
  • Onsite position in Carlsbad office with ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

What will help you on the job

  • PMP or equivalent program management certification.
  • Experience with US Federal Government contracts.
  • Experience with satellite communication systems or large-scale network deployments.
  • Be a self-starter capable of communicating product and service information to users.
  • Active Secret Clearance.

Salary range

$85,500.00 - $140,500.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $106,500.00- $159,500.00/ annually
