Job Description

The Operations Controller will be the trusted finance partner for operations leadership, supporting to drive business value within Automation globally. Business actions will be translated into financial impact in order to assist drive data driven, informed decision making. The role will support the Automation business expansion globally whilst delivering on short- and long-term financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing finance partner - strategic partner to manufacturing leadership globally, Global Manufacturing VP as well as plant managers. Lead finance stream of global strategic projects.

  • Procurement Finance partner - support tracking and reporting of procurement savings, PPV and cost pressures to translate to business impact. Driving actions with procurement to improve CCC.

  • Sales & Marketing costing related support - to provide analysis product cost, inflation analysis, for pricing and customer communications.

  • Lead Costing Team of 3 direct reports to start and in later phase of role include resource in other regions.

  • Product costing - accountable for all product costing related activity, including the proposal and implementation of costing methodology and systems globally. Responsible for standardization of costing and consistent & accurate implementation across all plants.

  • Lead Budget / Standard Costing globally for manufacturing annual budget cycle.

  • Overall operational savings tracking for global plants CRI (Cost Reduction Initiatives)

  • Plant performance tracking and review - implement analytical and standard variance analysis across Automation globally.

  • Standards - driving benchmarking, improvement and control.

  • Partner to Engineering Portfolio team regarding product costings and business case support.

  • Working Capital (CCC) finance leader - target tracking & reporting, drive improvement.

  • Lead improvement and standardization of Internal Controls across global Automation plants.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 15+ years of finance, costing or accounting experience

  • 5+ years' experience in a senior finance capacity, interacting at VP and Business President. level

  • 2+ years in finance in manufacturing and costing. Deep understanding of both.

  • 5+ years people management experience

  • Experience in significant capital expenditure, business case builds and tracking

  • International company and global multi-site experience

  • Target and budget setting experience in leadership capacity

  • Experience using ERP in manufacturing

  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects on a continuous basis with frequent interruptions and be able to manage time effectively

  • Excellent presentation skills at executive level

  • Experience in business transformation

  • High level of expertise in systems and utilizing data

  • Experience in large company (+$5 billion sales)

  • Experience in M&A, business integration

Travel

  • Travel to manufacturing sites up to approximately 20%, currently within North America and Europe.
