Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location: Danville, PA 17821

Duration: 04 Months to Long-Term

Schedule: 7:00 AM-3:30 PM or 1:00 PM-9:30 PM (Rotating or every other weekend)

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing and clinical care to facility residents and make appropriate referrals to ensure medical needs are met.
  • Deliver emergency first aid treatment to youth and staff in compliance with physician/dentist-approved standing orders, treatment protocols, and individualized medical/dental/psychiatric treatment plans.
  • Triage and treat residents presenting with medical, dental, or psychiatric illness or injury.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized medical, dental, and psychiatric care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments; observe, record, and report symptoms, vital signs, and reactions.
  • Perform nursing treatments, collect specimens, and administer immunizations, screenings, and assessments per regulations and physician orders.
  • Coordinate off-site medical appointments and transportation to ensure appropriate follow-up care.
  • Prepare, document, and maintain accurate resident and staff medical records and reports.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, residents, supervisors, and healthcare providers regarding illnesses, injuries, and care plans.
  • Function in accordance with the Pennsylvania Professional Nurse Law and applicable regulations.
  • Report incidents via the Juvenile Justice Automated Case System (JJACS), including but not limited to injuries requiring off-site care, hospitalizations, suicide attempts, communicable diseases, abuse allegations, criminal activity, or visitor-related incidents.
  • Transcribe and comply with practitioner orders unless compliance may jeopardize resident safety, in which case immediate escalation is required.
  • Adhere to all Commonwealth and Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services (BJJS) policies and procedures.


Required Qualifications:

  • Valid LPN License for the State of NJ.
  • Current BLS/CPR Certification.
