Position summary

This role is responsible for testing and delivering complex software to accomplish business outcomes. These individuals are subject matter experts on testing practices ensuring that software is tested to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. They help condition and generate test data, build, and execute manual test suites; record and communicate the test results; and assist with triaging defects. They also ensure regression test suites are well designed and maintained. This role will also work closely with the Test Automation Engineer to establish and maintain the automation framework.

What will you do in this role?

  • Perform end-to-end functional, regression, system and integration testing
  • Collaborate within an Agile test team to uphold and enforce testing best practices
  • Review requirements, UX flows, and clinical use cases to develop detailed test scenarios and test cases.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency and software quality
  • Participate in release validations, smoke testing, and build acceptance.
  • Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases based on functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Test Automation Engineer to identify automation opportunities and develop test automation for applicable test types.
  • Help condition and generate test data and ensure data compliance requirements are met on all levels of test environments. Assist in identifying and managing sensitive test data.
  • Execute test cases, including manual and automated tests, and record test results.
  • Report issues and defects along with the appropriate background information for review.
  • Participate in triaging reported issues/defects and assist with resolving or escalating them as necessary.
  • Create and manage traceability. Trace tests forwards/backwards through the development lifecycle and back to requirements.

What do you need to succeed in this role?

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in manual testing with knowledge implementing various testing strategies (Regression, Functional, Smoke, Usability, etc.)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working within an Agile development methodology (Scrum and Kanban)
  • Strong test case writing, test planning, and documentation skills.
  • Experience working within an agile/scrum methodology
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of requirements traceability and Agile Software Development Lifecycle (ASDLC)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some experience coding software, preferably in Javascript/Typescript a huge plus
  • Limited experience in building and/or maintaining test automation frameworks
  • Experience with Pega Platform, React and/or Azure DevOps Pipelines highly desired

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the midpoint of the salary range for this role is $89,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
