Competitive Pay: This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $25/hr. to $35hr., depending on experience and qualifications. What You'll Do:
- Perform DCI (Disassemble, Clean, and Inspect) on electric motors, pumps, and gearboxes in accordance with established procedures.
- Disassemble centrifugal and vertical turbine pumps, electric motors, and rotating assemblies safely and correctly.
- Clean housings, shafts, and internal components using approved solvents, tools, and cleaning equipment.
- Inspect bearings, seals, impellers, shafts, fits, and mechanical interfaces for wear or damage.
- Identify damaged or worn components and accurately document inspection findings for repair estimates.
- Measure and verify clearances, runout, and tolerances using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and related precision tools.
- Document all inspection results clearly and report findings to the Lead Technician or Mechanical Supervisor.
- Assist in preparing parts lists, repair recommendations, and service documentation.
- Reassemble pumps and motors under supervision, following technical drawings, work instructions, and specification sheets.
- Remove and install bearings, seals, impellers, couplings, and related components using proper mechanical techniques.
- Assist with electric motor disassembly and reassembly, including end bells, bearing removal, and component preparation.
- Support test activities such as hydrostatic testing, motor test runs, and leak checks as directed.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance such as lubrication and fluid checks as assigned.
- Assist with inventory management of bearings, seals, fasteners, and related components.
- Safely operate hoists, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment when trained and authorized.
- Support senior technicians and participate in cross-training across mechanical, pump, and motor repair disciplines.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations.
What You'll Need:
- High school diploma or GED required. Technical school, trade certificate, or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, or a related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of hands-on mechanical experience (industrial maintenance, pump repair, automotive, equipment repair, or similar) preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn precision repair methods.
- Ability to use micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and basic shop measuring tools.
- Familiarity with rotating equipment, pumps, and electric motor components.
- Basic understanding of mechanical fits, alignment, and torque principles.
- Basic computer proficiency required, including Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation, data entry, and inspection reporting.
- Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, dependable, and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a production shop environment.
- Ability to lift and handle up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and handling of heavy mechanical components.
- Ability to work in an industrial shop environment with exposure to oils, solvents, and moving machinery (proper PPE required).
