Job Family Engineering Discipline Environmental Remediation Career Level P5 Salary Range $124,000 - $180,000 Note for Salary This is the range within which SRNS expects the majority of qualified candidates would enter this role if offered. Actual offers may be more or less than the amounts shown depending on candidate's qualifications, experience, internal equity, and other factors. Job Family Description Engineering roles perform engineering work in operations, production, construction, or maintenance environments. They may design and scale up manufacturing processes, instruments and equipment and tests manufactured products to maintain quality. They may plan, design, and estimate time and cost and oversees construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, systems, and components. They analyze and develop solutions to engineering problems related to manufacturing equipment and systems or the causes of component failures. They develop and apply engineering standards and procedures and provide advice on issues within the engineering field. Discipline Description Environmental remediation personnel conduct engineering studies related to the evaluation of contaminated sites to determine the scope, constituent content, and physical parameters of the pollutants. The studies focus on the most feasible, cost effective and timely methodology available for remedial action in keeping with environmental and regulatory requirements, and with responsible community action. They conduct extensive investigation of the site to determine the extent of contamination, defining the alternatives that can be employed to complete the clean-up and ensuring the work will be in accordance with all federal and state regulatory requirements and within the company's environmental policies. They develop plans and specifications for remedial and removal actions in response to identifying environmental media contaminated with hazardous substances. They respond to requests from operating units on geo-environmental engineering problems and facility decontamination issues, and maintain a strong working knowledge on the scientific and technical aspects of various regulatory requirements and how they impact each clean-up operation. Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include: SRNS is looking to hire an Experienced Hydrogeologist to provide technical direction for groundwater remediation projects. This position is within the Facilities & Systems Engineering Organization for the Environmental Compliance & Area Completion Project Group. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in geology/hydrogeology, environmental science, environmental engineering or relevant field plus at least fifteen years of experience (YOE), OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least twelve years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field plus at least eight years of experience (YOE) We'd Also Like to See Master or PhD in Geology or Hydrogeology.
