What you'll be doing...

You will be part of Verizon's Responsible Business team within the Corporate Affairs organization. The Responsible Business Investor Engagement team helps strengthen Verizon's reputation and support long-term investment by actively engaging with shareholders on environmental, social and governance topics. In this role, you will help implement a structured shareholder engagement program by coordinating, tracking and supporting direct engagement with investors, as well as working cross-functionally to advance the integration of responsible business considerations across the company.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the shareholder engagement process, including written communication with stewardship teams, scheduling, meeting preparation and follow-up documentation.

  • Collecting, analyzing and presenting to management relevant information on institutional investors, including proxy voting guidelines, stewardship reports, news releases, issue-specific research and bespoke or thematic voting policies in advance of engagements.

  • Managing the production of presentation materials, briefing books, talking points and other internal supporting documents for various stakeholder engagements. Developing high-quality, impactful presentation decks from concept to final delivery, ensuring professional design, formatting and adherence to brand standards.

  • Effectively communicating with various internal and external stakeholders related to inquiries and requests for governance and sustainability information; collaborating with colleagues/ subject matter experts to obtain relevant information.

  • Managing initiatives to measure the quantitative and qualitative impact of the Responsible Business investor engagement program, including through the use of tools such as Nasdaq IR Insights.

  • Overseeing the company's responses to third-party evaluators and key investor rating organizations, and monitor proxy advisor policies.

  • Staying up-to-date with reporting frameworks, identifying gaps between stewardship expectations and company reporting.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience in finance or business administration.

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Experience working in the investment community, investor relations, corporate governance, and/or working directly with investment stewardship teams.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Experience in the telecommunications industry.

  • Great attention to detail and ability to analyze data, leveraging information to provide clear, concise and supported recommendations for action.

  • Strong collaboration skills and an ability to engage with stakeholders at any level in the business.

  • Experience with non-financial reporting (i.e., environmental or human capital metrics).

  • Familiarity with voluntary ESG reporting frameworks and recommendations (i.e., SASB, TCFD), as well as mandatory reporting expectations.

  • Experience with ESG ratings and rankings including MSCI, ISS and Sustainalytics.

  • Proficiency in G-Suite.

Where you'll be working
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $109,500.00 - $209,000.00. The annual salary range for the New York location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $120,000.00 - $209,000.00.
