Summary of Position

The Senior Production Planner is responsible for orchestrating the near term production planning, material management and scheduling of the Finish Fill Focus Factory to meet demand for medical isotopes and radiopharmaceuticals. This role ensures optimal use of hot cell capacity, coordinates with supply chain and technical teams, and drives continuous improvement in planning processes.



Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare Master Production Schedules which balance production capabilities with forecasted demand with focus on finite planning horizons for a rolling 2 month schedule.
  • Perform near term capacity planning to identify gaps between forecasted demand and production capabilities. Manage maintenance schedules and communicates anticipated downtimes to long term planning.
  • Provide input and oversight of routings and planning bills of material to support the production planning and materials resource planning requirements. Provide input and oversight of detailed production schedules and assist in coordination with manufacturing personnel.
  • Coordinate communications within the Corporate Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Marketing concerning product availability and other issues. Serve as backup to the Materials Manager to coordinate all product alert activities.
  • Provide input and oversight of daily production support activities, such as creating and updating manufacturing run summaries with updated customer service orders for all Finish Fill products.
  • Perform key inventory control activities such as preparation of detailed inventory analyses and forward projections, physical inventory, and reconciliation.
  • Review and modify planned production in the MRP system (AS400/MAPICS/Infor XA etc.) and evaluate the effect of alternative production schedules on the plant financial forecast.
  • Adhere to all Plant Safety rules and policies.
  • Maintain weekly KPI's as assigned to track and manage financial, production, and quality performance. Manage month end checklist to ensure clean and timely closure of month end financials.
  • Provide a detailed analysis of the root cause of backorders which include demand/forecast analysis, provide accurate recovery information, and implement modified production schedule to effectively provide best customer service solution.
  • Coordinate information gathering and root cause analysis around product alerts.
  • Advise and coordinate schedule changes with appropriate personnel. Support all media fills, maintenance, holiday shutdowns, and other atypical manufacturing activities under the guidance and direction of the focus factory managers and production managers.
  • Backup to peer planners and assist in coordinating supply with key nuclear reactors.
  • Assist in the coordination for communications between Supply Chain, Commercial, Production, Quality, Distribution, and Customer Service to help resolve issues regarding product availability.
  • Initiates the release of manufacturing orders in MAPICS/Infor XA to support developed production plans during off-shift hours. The initiation of the manufacturing order feeds production lot level data to LIMS, SMART, and Labeling Systems. Coordinate all atypical scenarios.
  • Independently troubleshoots and resolve errors with production with MAPICS entry issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must maintain operational compliance with US and international regulatory agencies and guidelines (i.e. FDA, EU, HC, TGA, PIC/S, ISO, USP, NRC, cGMP, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field required. Work experience considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Five or more years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Cross functional experience interacting with Supply Chain and production.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of MAPICS, JD Edwards, or related MRP System.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP and ISO practices.
  • Working knowledge or Lean and Six Sigma concepts or Certifications is desirable.
  • Ability to use project management skills to conduct effective meetings.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and drive problems to resolution.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to keep detailed records, attention to detail.
  • Able to analyze, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.


Working Conditions:



  • Willingness to work in plant producing radioactive materials and requiring all employees to participate in safety programs designed to minimize potential and/or actual exposure levels.
  • Responsibilities include the ability to lift up to 70 pounds, kneeling, crouching, twisting the upper body, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, must be able to physically negotiate stairs and evacuation ladders with or without accommodation, wear and operate safety equipment, enter vessels, and inspect equipment.
  • Material handling devices (e.g., hand truck, fork truck, and conveyors) are used when possible, however, use of proper lifting and movement techniques is necessary to prevent injury.
  • Must be willing to wear a variety of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and hearing protection as needed.
  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of 8+ hours a day while performing duties.
  • Must possess good hand-eye coordination; close attention to detail is required.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors with exposure to mechanical/moving parts, hazards including corrosive, flammable and toxic material, dust, dirt, odors, and irritants.
  • Willingness to complete safety training within allotted timeframes, and work in a team-based environment.
  • Must be able to work outside of regular work hours, including off shift, weekend, and holiday work as business needs require.
