Position Summary

Sealed Air is hiring a Sr. Product Manager, Shrink Films to own the P&L for our shrink portfolio, spanning Cryovac shrink films, Shanklin shrink equipment, and the after-market service tied to both. This is a growth mandate, not a maintenance role: you will build the roadmap and pricing strategy that drives share and margin gains across the portfolio.

Job Description

You own pricing outright, including special pricing and deviation approvals. Every contract in this portfolio runs through you before it is signed. You have the authority to structure equipment for film deals, trading equipment economics for film volume commitments, when the math works.

You partner closely with sales as a business partner, equipping the team with the product strategy, pricing, and technical positioning they need to win. The product, the P&L, and the roadmap belong to you.

100 percent of shrink film volume moves through distribution partners. You partner with Shrink Business Development Managers across the United States who sit within the sales organization, equipping them with roadmap direction, pricing tools, and technical positioning.

You manage the Technical Sales Specialist, a field based technical expert who resolves equipment issues on site across accounts and reports directly into this role.

This role is a hybrid role located in Charlotte, NC in office Monday - Thursday with the opportunity to be remote on Fridays.

Responsibilities:

Product Strategy and Road mapping

  • Define and maintain the roadmap for Cryovac shrink films and Shanklin shrink equipment, covering both food contact and non-food protective applications.
  • Build the business case for growth opportunities across the portfolio: evaluate total addressable market, cost to serve, and ROI on any investment.

Lifecycle and Portfolio Management

  • Own the end to end lifecycle for shrink films and shrink equipment, from requirements gathering through launch, sustainment, and end of life.
  • Prioritize feature enhancements, cost reduction programs, and service improvements based on margin impact, uptime, and customer satisfaction.
  • Interface regularly with the Shanklin equipment manufacturing site in Ayer, MA, on product specifications and roadmap execution.

Pricing and Contract Ownership

  • Own pricing strategy for shrink films, shrink equipment, and related service offerings.
  • Approve special pricing requests and pricing deviations.
  • Own final sign off on contracts across the shrink portfolio, including technical contracts, component sourcing agreements, and aftermarket service level agreements.
  • Structure equipment for film trade economics where it accelerates film volume.

Distribution and Channel Structure

  • Partner with Shrink Business Development Managers across the United States who sit within the sales organization, equipping them with roadmap direction, pricing tools, and technical positioning.
  • Partner closely with the sales team on account strategy as a business partner who drives the product and pricing decisions behind their success.

People Leadership

  • Manage the Technical Sales Specialist, who resolves equipment issues on site across accounts and reports directly into this role.

Cross Functional Execution and Operations Interface

  • Partner with Operations on production prioritization for the shrink portfolio.
  • Partner with Operations on identifying and developing solutions for quality defects. Operations owns execution of the fix, this role owns identifying the problem and shaping the solution.
  • Drive Agile or Stage Gate product development across R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance for the shrink portfolio.
  • Coordinate trade show presence and technical collateral with the marketing team.

Qualifications

Core Capabilities and Skills

  • Strategic and Analytical Thinking:Translate market and competitive data into a roadmap that can close a real, multi-year share gap.
  • Technical Acumen:Deep understanding of mechanical systems, material science (film/paper), and process engineering.
  • Commercial Savvy:Set pricing, approve deviations, and manage full P&L accountability for the portfolio.
  • Channel Fluency:Understand how to equip a 100% distribution driven sales model without owning the account relationship directly.
  • Cross Functional Drive:Move R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance toward one roadmap, and negotiate hard when priorities conflict.
  • Customer Centric Mindset:Strong focus on voiceofcustomer insights, customer satisfaction metrics, and designing solutions that solve real business problems.
  • Project & Change Management: Disciplined in managing complex, multiphase projects with rigorous risk mitigation and milestone tracking.
  • Executive Communication:Brief senior stakeholders with data backed conclusions, not filler, and build sales tools the distribution facing team actually uses.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a related STEM field preferred.
    • MBA preferred.

Experience

  • 7+ years in B2B product management of technical, capital intensive equipment or systems.
  • Track record managing an integrated portfolio spanning hardware, consumables, and service offerings.
  • Hands on experience with contract negotiation, aftermarket service models, and distribution/channel partnerships.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 40% for customer visits, trade shows, and partner workshops.
  • Proficiency with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools, CRM systems, and data analytics platforms.
