Our Space division in East Aurora, NY is looking for a Procurement Lead to join our dynamic team This Procurement Lead is a member of the Global Indirect Sourcing organization and is responsible for partnering with the Indirect Sourcing Leadership team to identify and execute all aspects of spend management for the indirect sourcing function for assigned indirect categories such as professional services, indirect materials, MRO, IT and telecom & capital. You will serve as the lead for developing strategic sourcing strategies, negotiating contract pricing and terms (including supplier identification and selection), and closing long-term agreements for designated categories across Operating Groups and sites both regionally and globally.

You will report directly to the Sr. Procurement Manager and enjoy collaborative, hybrid working environment on first shift.

As our Procurement Lead, you will make critical contributions by holding responsibility for:

  • Managing the development and execution of procurement strategies for assigned category strategies

  • Develop and maintain professional and productive relationships with both internal customers and stakeholders of all Operating Groups and external suppliers

  • Partner with cross functional teams, internal customers and stakeholders across Operating Groups, building/maintaining professional relationships to apply sourcing best practices

  • In collaboration with our Legal team, conduct vendor negotiations related to material and services including price, quality, specifications, and delivery to meet project requirement; ensure that supplier delivery schedules and quality are maintained at a level necessary to support timelines

  • Conduct global market research to identify potential new suppliers and products; lead cross functional team to qualify and also seek opportunities to optimize the supply base, where applicable

  • Conduct supplier survey and scorecard measurement process with key suppliers - driving continuous improvement and project savings opportunities

  • Execute RFQ's for designated categories to determine supplier capabilities, risks, pricing, and services focusing on total cost of ownership

  • Award contracts for assigned categories and monitor purchases to ensure commitments are made and rebates are maximized

  • Maintain supplier database information and ensure all documents are retained in compliance with document management requirements

  • Assist in the development, documentation and implementation of policies and procedures

  • Comply with all SOX requirements and approved processes and procedures

To be considered for this Procurement Lead role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, engineering, finance, technical background or related field of study is required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive procurement experience (usually post education) in the field of manufacturing or engineering

  • 2-5 years' experience in a sourcing organization or relevant business/commercial experience

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint, MS Office Proficiency, MRP, SAP, Ariba; Experience implementing SAP systems a plus

  • Established Procurement skillset to include sourcing indirect categories, negotiation, strategy development and execution, contract development, financial analysis, market analysis, supplier diversity and management

  • Demonstrated experience identifying and developing procurement tools and reports

  • Proven ability to utilize various industry information and benchmarking, draw upon knowledge and researching data utilizing internal and external sources of the global markets, interpret key stakeholder requirements, and leverage actionable data analytics in evaluating strategies, developing options, and executing tactics to deliver sustainable sourcing solutions

It would be great if you also had:

  • MBA preferred

  • Project/Program Management experience

  • Certification in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Program Management

  • Knowledge of procurement and contractual law is preferred

  • ISM-CPM/CPSM certified, APICs-CPIM, preferred

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $80,000.00-$110,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
