Develop your engineering career at JLL! Responsible for operating and maintaining central plant equipment within a team environment. The Central Plant Lead must ensure the highest level of professionalism, while meeting the clients' needs, and a commitment to achieving the goal of 100% uptime throughout the team.

Location: Hopkinton, MA 01748

Work Schedule: On-site, Monday-Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM w/rotating on-call schedule for after hours emergencies

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Estimated compensation for this position is: $48.08 - $58.85+ an hour

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Protect and improve asset value by implementing client maintenance standards, managing third-party providers, and ensuring building engineering systems perform their intended functions
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain central plant equipment including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, HVAC systems, motors, pumps, VFDs, and associated controls using Building Automation Systems
  • Perform routine and emergency repairs to electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; manage chemical treatment and testing for steam, cooling, and water systems
  • Execute and document scheduled preventative maintenance tasks in CMMS; respond to alarms and troubleshoot system operations
  • Analyze system data to anticipate needs, problem-solve, and optimize performance by continuously evaluating and improving maintenance and operations methods
  • Maintain infrastructure and compliance documentation including building drawings and records required for Federal, State, and local regulatory compliance
  • Provide work direction to maintenance team members and third-party service providers as needed; perform additional duties to address changing business needs

Physical Work Requirements & Conditions:

  • Work extended hours inside and outside in all weather conditions, including awkward body positions that may cause physical discomfort and strain
  • Perform strenuous labor requiring the ability to regularly lift, carry, and adjust heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Handle sharp, hot, and very cold supplies, equipment, and parts safely
  • Safely climb ladders and work at elevation from ladders, scaffolding, lifts, roofs, or platforms; ability to work in confined spaces required
  • Regularly stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach with arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends as required
  • Respond to after-hours site emergencies as needed
Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ten (10)+ years of experience with commercial or industrial Central Utility Plants and Chilled Water Systems
  • EPA Section 608 Universal certification and Journeyman Refrigeration Technician's License / Massachusetts Refrigeration Technicians License required
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Building Management System (BMS), and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
  • Strong background in building mechanical, HVAC, and electrical systems with ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work orders, and equipment manuals
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills

Estimated compensation for this position:

120,000.00 - 125,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
