Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Specialist in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare Sites and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within a Healthcare Facility location, helping to deter security-related incidents and fostering a secure environment for all. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols, and provide outstanding customer service while upholding our values of agility, reliability, and teamwork. What You'll Do:

  • Carry out security-related procedures and follow site-specific policies as directed by Allied Universal, providing customer service to clients and visitors.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, taking appropriate action based on the situation and protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols, both inside the facility and around the perimeter, helping to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas within the location to help control access and observe for suspicious activity.
  • Provide assistance during emergency response activities, following established protocols and reporting relevant information to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of observations, incidents, and daily activities as required by Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Interact professionally with employees, visitors, and contractors, addressing inquiries and providing directions as needed.
  • Support site operations by identifying potential security-related risks and reporting them according to established procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Act 235 qualification is required for positions in Pennsylvania.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
