Cloud Security Architect, Lead

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Security Architect, Lead to guide large, highly skilled engineering teams in delivering modern, secure, and scalable cloud solutions. This individual will serve as a technical leader, strategic advisor, and mentor while driving best-in-class cloud architecture, security practices, and automation. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

What You'll Work On:

  • Lead and mentor large engineering teams across complex, multi-cloud initiatives.

  • Architect secure, scalable solutions across public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Oversee design, development, and delivery of cloud-native systems and infrastructure.

  • Define and enforce best practices in cloud security, IAM, network security, and security automation.

  • Drive the adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, observability, and automated security controls.

  • Lead executive and technical workshops, discovery sessions, and architecture reviews.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers and internal stakeholders, translating business needs into technical solutions.

  • Provide project leadership across full lifecycle engagements, ensuring quality execution and on-time delivery.

  • Communicate complex technical concepts to various audiences, including C-suite executives.

  • Mentor and grow engineering talent, promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

  • Manage resource planning, project scopes, timelines, and cross-functional coordination.

  • Facilitate continuous improvement across engineering processes and cloud operations.

  • Develop high-quality PowerPoint decks for workshops, proposals, architecture documents, and executive briefings.

  • Deliver clear, engaging presentations to customers, leadership, and engineering teams.

You Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering or cloud architecture

  • 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams or managing complex cloud programs

  • Experience in Azure

  • Experience with IaC , such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices

  • Knowledge of AWS and GCP

  • Knowledge of cloud security, compliance frameworks, and automated security tooling

  • Ability to use advanced PowerPoint and design presentations

  • Public Trust

  • HS diploma or GED

  • Azure Architecture and Security professional-level cloud Certification, such as Azure Architect Expert Certification

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience in multi-cloud strategy or hybrid cloud environments

  • Experience with Kubernetes, container security, and service mesh architectures

  • Possession of strong documentation, storytelling, and technical writing skills

  • Possession of excellent advising skills, including workshop facilitation, client-facing communication, and executive engagement

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
