Zoning/Code Enforcement Officer Position

Oklahoma Borough is accepting applications for the position of Zoning/Code Enforcement Officer. This part-time role is a hybrid position combining duties of Zoning Officer and Code Enforcement.

Key responsibilities include reviewing and processing permit applications, applying and enforcing zoning, subdivision, land development, and health and safety ordinances, managing the issuance of all applicable permits required by the Borough, act as the primary staff person/liaison to the Borough Planning Commission and the Zoning & Hearing Board, conducting field inspections, investigating and enforcing zoning and code violations, coordinating with third-party inspection agencies and engineering consultants, and representing the Borough in meetings, hearings and court proceedings. Monthly evening meetings and occasional emergency response are required.

The position requires strong communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to work independently while maintaining positive relationships with residents, contractors, and officials.

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and valid Pennsylvania drivers license. Experience in municipal zoning/code enforcement or a related field preferred.
