The Role: The Divisional Director, Electric Heat Trace will shape the future of a global 60M business within Spirax Group's Electric Thermal Solutions Division (ETS), a leader in critical heat Industrial application solutions for industrial customers. This is a high-impact role with full P&L accountability, responsible for driving profitable growth and operational excellence while aligning with ETS and Spirax Group Core Values.
The successful candidate will combine visionary leadership with hands-on execution - anticipating global market and supply chain dynamics, unlocking high-margin opportunities, and steering the organization toward sustainable growth. Beyond financial performance, this leader will champion a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement, ensuring the business remains agile and competitive in a rapidly evolving industrial landscape.
This business is a high growth, high margin business. Sales revenue is currently 80% North America with the remaining 20% split between Europe and Asia Pacific. The aim will be to continue to grow North America, while accelerating growth in the Europe and Asia Pacific region. Manufacturing is currently in North America (Tennessee), Germany and China. This role is about maximizing both Growth, Profit and ROI. Your Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Develop and execute the division's growth strategy for critical industrial heat applications, energy efficiency, and sustainability-explicitly aligning supply chain and commercial goals with ETS's broader business objectives.
- Anticipate operational disruptions (supply, logistics, regulatory, demand) and identify opportunities to scale, innovate, and improve customer value; translate insights into portfolio, pricing, and channel plans.
- Present data-backed recommendations to executive leadership; set targets for revenue growth, margin expansion, and market penetration, reinforcing a customer-centric mindset.
Operational Management
- Own and optimize the end-to-end supply chain strategy, ensuring resilience, agility, and world-class delivery performance while driving cost efficiency and operational excellence.
- Champion sustainability in operations while meeting safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Financial Oversight
- Own the full P&L (revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, working capital, cash conversion); interpret financial data to assess trade-offs and make decisions that drive profitability.
- Set budgets/forecasts; implement corrective actions and value-based pricing/mix strategies to achieve plan; prioritize CapEx and NPD investments with clear ROI and payback.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to Spirax Group plc. global standards and regulatory compliance (ISO, OSHA, and local equivalents) while driving world-class process capability and product quality through measurable improvements in FPY and PPM.
- Champion a values-driven, zero-harm culture by setting the tone for safety leadership; deliver sustained reductions in TRIR while elevating audit performance and strengthening customer trust
Commercial & Sales Leadership (B2B)
- Lead global commercial strategy for industrial verticals (chemicals, food & beverage, pharma, energy, and related high heat processes); expand key accounts and strengthen channel partnerships.
- Identify both new sectors and geographies for profitable growth expansion.
- Accelerate solution-selling and price realization vs. inflation; increase win rates and share of wallet through collaborative value creation with teammates and partners.
- Align product roadmaps to customer needs and sustainability outcomes; improve NPS/CSAT and deliver programs on time/on budget.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop an international leadership bench; drive succession planning and engagement-motivating cross-functional teams to perform and improve.
- Foster transparency and trust across the supply chain ecosystem (internal and external); navigate complex relationships to maintain alignment across functions and partners. Contribute to the wider best practices of the Spirax Group Operational Excellence work.
- Improve leadership effectiveness through 360 feedback, targeted training/certifications, and retention of critical roles; raise succession readiness for key positions.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's/MBA preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of senior leadership in global manufacturing, with proven delivery of growth, margin expansion, and operational excellence; background in thermal/high heat applications strongly preferred.
- Technical: Manufacturing expertise (Lean/CI, OEE, SIOP, quality systems), ERP/MES fluency, and understanding of thermal energy systems and industrial applications preferred.
- Commercial: Demonstrated success in B2B sales leadership, value-based pricing, key account management, and channel development; ability to align commercial innovation with corporate strategy. Understanding of North America, Europe and Asia Pacific markets an advantage. Ability and desire to meet, build customer trust and challenge appropriately.
- Operational: Understands manufacturing, walks the plant and knows what good looks like.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Leads with values; builds trust and transparency across internal/external stakeholders; engages and motivates cross-functional teams while driving accountability and results. Focus on succession talent.
- Financial & Analytical: Owns the broader P&L; understands key performance levers (EBITDA, working capital turns, cash conversion); leverages data and insights to simplify processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure reliable delivery.
- Member of the Electric Thermal Solutions (ETS) executive team: Contributes to the wider success of the business, Group first mindset. Does the right thing.
