QA Engineer (E-commerce API Testing)

Genesis10 is currently seeking a QA Engineer for a 6+ month contract-to-hire opportunity located in Alpharetta, GA.

Compensation: $55.00 - 60.00 per hour, W2, depending on skill and experience level.

Summary:

Our client is hiring a QA Engineer to drive quality for e-commerce API-based services. This role is hands-on in API functional and regression testing, with a strong emphasis on API automation using Postman and the ability to validate ISO Data Elements used within commerce/transaction flows. You'll work closely with developers and product partners to prevent defects, improve test coverage, and strengthen QA practices. Success in this role means contributing to faster, more reliable regression cycles, reducing escaped defects through strong coverage of core e-commerce API flows, and ensuring clear defect reporting and tight collaboration with engineering to improve release quality.

Responsibilities:

• Execute detailed API-focused QA testing (functional, regression; performance testing where needed).
• Build and maintain API automation using Postman (collections, environments, data-driven execution as applicable).
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test evidence aligned to requirements and risk.
• Validate payloads and mappings that include ISO Data Elements relevant to the transaction/data model used by the product.
• Triage defects: reproduce, document clearly, partner with engineering to drive timely resolution.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and automation coverage.

Requirements:

• Direct experience testing e-commerce APIs (not just UI testing).
• Hands-on API automation with Postman (candidate can describe how they structure collections/environments and run automated suites).
• Knowledge/familiarity with ISO Data Elements used in the role's data/transaction flows (ability to validate fields/data elements and expected mappings).
• 4+ years in QA; 2+ years in automation testing; experience in Agile teams.

Desired skills:

• Performance testing experience (tooling + interpreting results).
• CI/CD exposure (running automated API tests in pipelines; reporting; gating releases).
• Security testing familiarity (basic API security checks, OWASP awareness).
• Testing certifications or formal QA methodology training.
