Battlewatch Support Team Member ***This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.*** A Battlewatch Support Team Member is a highly skilled professional who plays a crucial role in military operations by providing real-time monitoring, analysis, and support during combat scenarios. With advanced communication systems and data analysis tools, they gather and assess information, monitor the operational environment, and track the movements of friendly and hostile forces. Collaborating closely with commanders and staff officers, they facilitate effective decision-making by disseminating critical information, coordinating communication, and providing actionable intelligence. Their expertise in information management, analysis, and communication contributes to the overall success of military operations by maintaining situational awareness and supporting operational decision-making. Battlewatch Support Team Member Responsibilities Include:
- The Battlewatch Support Team members will provide a 24/7, 365 days per year Command's central notification and data-source center for both crisis and other significant, non-routine events.
- Maintain the Battlewatch section with 100% compliance.
- Provide a master shift schedule to the COR by the last day of each month for the following month.
- Prepare and execute routine daily reports that document the status of current SOCCENT operations, all personnel, and SOF laydown.
- Create update and disseminate daily reports including but not limited to SITREPs, DEPREPs, consolidated PERSTAT, J3 force laydown brief, OPSUM and daily ops primer. Maintains daily, accurate records of all personnel traveling within the AOR, recording their status on NIPR and SIPR databases. Tracks and maintains daily key leader location product that is disseminated to the entire SOCCENT enterprise.
- Accurately document initial 5Ws (who, what, when, where, why) report (i.e. CCIR, serious incidents, disasters), providing responsive and accurate information regarding potential victims, and effecting coordination with subordinate commands/commanders IAW regulatory requirements. Submits timely incident reports to the J3 and other SOCCENT leadership to include the Chief of Staff and Commander, as required.
- Notify with 100% compliance across the spectrum of potential events (personal emergencies, physical security, natural disasters, and emergency or military contingencies) to command leadership.
- Provide support with the planning and execution of SOCCENT Continuation of Operations (COOP) training or real-world contingency missions. This may require prolonged travel to an alternate/contingency command and control location during real world events, i.e., hurricane evacuation.
- Work collaboratively with other team members, commanders, and staff officers to support the overall mission objectives and maintain effective teamwork.
- Follow established military protocols, procedures, and guidelines for information handling, security, and operational execution.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Battlewatch Support Team Member Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Bachelor's degree in any field preferred, but not required
- 5 years' military experience or equivalent skill set
- Shall possess a current Top Secret/SCI security clearance
- Past military experience is highly desired
- Ability to maintain a high level of situational awareness by monitoring and analyzing incoming information, tracking the movements of friendly and hostile forces, and identifying potential threats.
- Proficiency in managing and analyzing large amounts of data from various sources, including surveillance systems, reports, and intelligence sources. Knowledge of database management and information retrieval systems is valuable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively relay critical information, provide updates to commanders and staff officers, and coordinate communication between units and stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze complex information, identify patterns, and extract actionable intelligence to support operational decision-making. Critical thinking skills and the ability to make quick assessments in high-pressure situations are essential.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations, handle high-stress scenarios, and remain focused under pressure. Resilience to overcome obstacles and the capacity to quickly adapt to evolving operational requirements is important.
- Ability to make informed and timely decisions based on available information and critical analysis. Effective decision-making in fast-paced and dynamic environments is crucial for supporting mission success.
