PAY RANGE: $135,000 - 148,000 POSITION SUMMARY: This position is accountable for growing and achieving performance results of the industrial blasting and coating facilities and marine vessel decking division. VIS performs heavy industrial shop painting for various customers in the commercial, marine, and government markets. The marine decking divisions removes, refurbishes, and replaces various forms of marine decking from tiles, carpets, paints and other resurfacing materials. Performance results include, but are not limited to, Safety, Environmental, Quality, Sales, Schedule and Production KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). This role supports development and implementation strategies to obtain and retain profitable business through market research, communications, customer contracts, sales that support strategic goals of the organization. Work is performed in blast and coating shop and marine ports in Puget Sound, Portland, OR, and Vancouver, WA areas. The work requires strong background in managing customers, production planning and execution at various location simultaneously. The position focuses on establishing a working plan and meeting outlined objectives. The work involves selecting, training, and disciplining employees as well as assuring work is appropriately assigned, equipment and materials secured, and all safety regulations met. Active measures shall be taken to improve cost and schedule performance and clear definable mitigation plans shall be established when negative variances occur or are projected, these shall be tracked until resolved or stabilized. The position will report to the General Manager and other production personal shall report through various supervisor levels to this role. JOB SCOPE: The position operates within established policies and procedures covering all types of work performed. The individual must have agreement from the VIS General Manger to revise standard work practices regarding safety, environmental rules and revision to work shifts. The incumbent is held accountable for the overall guidance and consistency across projects to ensure profitable performance of the work is achieved. The incumbent has profit and loss responsibility for his/her projects as well as, a critical role in securing revenue for the Company. In addition, they will act as a Project Managers as well as work with other Project Managers to develop build strategy plans. Incumbent is responsible for condition, function, safety, operations and compliance of facility and all equipment associated with said facility. Role is accountable for over $10 million dollar in annual revenue. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:The role manages approximately 50-100 craft employees in various skills in numerous work stations and locations in manufacturing shops and field environments. They are accountable for employee training and qualification, ensuring daily maintenance of equipment and upkeep, and other general housekeeping . They may manage multiple superintendents, supervisors, and various leads responsible for assigned tasks. The role will be required to document corrective actions and conduct performance reviews of staff. INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS: The individual will interact with other managers and leadership in performance of this role and be required to coordinate scope of work with other company priorities. He/she may be required to communicate at all levels within the organization and will also at times interact with customers on shop floors and in meetings.They interact on a regular basis with military and civilian leaders in the maritime and commercial industry. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:None required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing setting with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity. In total50% normal office environment and 50% of time spent in production areas or visiting customers. He/she must be able to walk to and from job sites. The person must be able to climb inclined stairways and vertical ladders; to enter confined areas and tanks; or review work at heights. The incumbent must be able to frequently bend, squat, crawl, twist and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds. He/she may be required to work more than 8-hour with occasional weekend work. There may be local travel and out-of-town travel (including air travel) up to 15% of the time with notice.
