Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol Driver in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Security Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. You will remain highly visible, provide outstanding customer service, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors. This position requires both armed responsibilities and driving duties, offering a dynamic environment where teamwork, reliability, and integrity are valued every day.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other designated areas to help to deter unwanted activity and report any suspicious behavior.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of incidents, observations, and daily activities according to Allied Universal protocols.
  • Interact with visitors, employees, and/or members of the public in a courteous and helpful manner, providing assistance as required.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to emergencies and/or requests for assistance in accordance with established procedures.
  • Carry and properly handle authorized equipment, including firearms, in compliance with all applicable laws and Allied Universal policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Three or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or a college degree is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
