Assistant Teaching Professor or Lecturer

Duties primarily include teaching introductory math courses, ability to teach upper-level mathematics/statistics classes, and experience in teaching large classes. Service responsibilities, such as support for departmental curriculum / pedagogy development or student advising may also be assigned, and the responsibility to teach four mathematics/statistics courses each semester.

Required Qualifications: include a Master's degree or equivalent in mathematics, statistics, or a related area (Lecturer) or a doctoral degree in mathematics, statistics, or a related area (Assistant Teaching Professor).

Preferred qualifications include a master's degree (Lecturer) or doctoral degree (Assistant Teaching Professor) in math or a related area, and at least one year of experience teaching introductory college math courses, and experience in teaching actuarial courses, including passing actuarial exams.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers a doctoral program with concentrations in applied mathematics and statistics. The department also offers two master's programs in mathematics and mathematical finance and a variety of undergraduate concentrations leading to the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in mathematics.
