The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary SHE leader to serve as the primary point of contact for regional SHE matters, driving cross-functional collaboration and aligning local and global SHE goals. The Opportunity
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the region for SHE topics, facilitating effective communication and ensuring access to global systems and documents.

  • Collaborate to standardize and simplify SHE management across the regions, driving efficiency, effectiveness and consistent implementation.

  • Support hiring, onboarding and training of SHE professionals, fostering their professional growth and career development.

  • Foster regional networks, best practice and knowledge sharing and encourage a collaborative approach among SHE professionals and relevant business stakeholders.

  • Provide direction and guidance on SHE programs and support the alignment of local and global SHE goals.

  • Advocate for the region by collecting and communicating their needs to the global SHE organization (Group SHE) and strengthen the business integration of SHE in the regions.

  • Identify opportunities and priorities and help remove barriers for continuous improvement of SHE performance.

  • Engage divisional and business unit leaders as key stakeholders for the realization of the global Roche strategy.

  • Connect and collaborate with other functions as needed within the regions, particularly those functions that closely depend on SHE or that SHE matters are closely related to.

  • Cultivate organizational readiness and leadership engagement by emphasizing SHE as a management responsibility, aligning stakeholder expectations, site-specific needs, and global SHE objectives.

  • Discover emerging risks, evolving requirements, and SHE challenges across diverse environments while supporting audits, CAPA closure, and the integration of SHE into technical processes and new acquisitions.

  • Promote best practices, foster knowledge sharing, and facilitate effective use of resources to strengthen SHE capabilities, leveraging mature sites as benchmarks for continuous improvement and proactive business integration.

  • You will lead global projects as part of the Group SHE organization

Who You Are

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 15 years of practical experience in at least two areas among Safety, Security, Health, Business Continuity, or Environmental Protection.

  • A Master's degree in Engineering or Natural Sciences.

  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in the field of Safety, Security, Health & Environmental Protection.

  • Proven experience in implementing health & safety programs in an R&D or manufacturing site.

  • Demonstrated ability in networked leadership within a matrix environment.

  • Experienced in managing high degrees of complexity while maintaining the balance between short-term objectives and long-term success.

  • Exposure to complex work environments requiring the management of change, ambiguity, and prioritization of tasks to achieve business goals.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary locations of California, Indiana, Massachusetts, and New Jersey is $179,300.00 - $348,000.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
