| Position Highlights |
The University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine (U of A-CVM), located in Oro Valley, Arizona, invites applications for a faculty position focused on teaching veterinary dentistry within the Doctor of Medicine (DVM) program. We are seeking a veterinarian with clinical and instructional experience in small animal dentistry to design, lead, and expand foundational and elective coursework in this discipline across the pre-clinical curriculum. The U of A-CVM curriculum is organized by organ-system blocks, the successful candidate will collaborate with course leaders to integrate clinically relevant dentistry content that supports the development of day-one-ready veterinarians. This faculty member will deliver hands-on and virtual instruction, develop new learning modules, support continuous curriculum improvement, and serve as faculty advisor for the CVM Dental Club. The position offers the opportunity to join a collaborative, student-centered team dedicated to preparing career-ready veterinarians through active learning and case-based instruction. This career-track appointment is not eligible for tenure and selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States. | Duties & Responsibilities |
- Design, develop, and deliver veterinary dentistry content across the DVM curriculum, including both foundational and elective coursework.
- Collaborate closely with faculty and instructional technicians to develop, refine, and deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences in dentistry.
- Deliver instruction aligned with the CVM's vision of
inclusive, evidence-based education that emphasizes Team-Based Learning (TBL), where students take ownership of their learning and classroom time focuses on the collaborative application of knowledge. - Provide regular out-of-class support through office
hours, mentoring, and scheduled meetings to assist a diverse student body in achieving learning outcomes. - Mentor and support students as the faculty advisor for
the CVM Dental Club, fostering professional growth and engagement in dentistry. - Participate
actively in the CVM and university communities through engagement in shared governance, advisory committees, curriculum improvement, and relevant academic or professional societies.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- DVM/VMD degree (or international equivalent) from an AVMA accredited college of school
- At
least five years of clinical experience in veterinary dentistry.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- At least eight years clinical practice experience.
- Experience mentoring students, with a preference on mentoring veterinary students.
- Prior experience in an academic veterinary teaching institution.
- Board certification or board eligibility in a relevant specialty such as veterinary dentistry.
