Details

The Self-Advocacy Coordinator is a professional staff member who coordinates activities for the Allies in Advocacy. Activities will include planning and facilitating meetings, setting agendas, recruiting and mentoring members, and coordinating special events. This project will work closely with another staff member to co-lead the Allies in Advocacy. This temporary hourly position will work 2-5 hours a week on average, to be agreed upon and approved by supervisor based on project need.

Required Qualifications:

* A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working on self-advocacy and self-determination initiatives for persons with disabilities.

* Experience working cooperatively with and serving on local, state or national boards and committees regarding disabilities and disability policies.

* Ability to effectively present ideas and concepts to individuals and/or an audience.

Desired Qualification:

* Experience working within a UCEDD and/or LEND program.
