Lakeside Grain Trading is a grain warehouse with an 11.5-million-bushel storage capacity located in Chicago along the Calumet River. The warehouse transports grain by truck, rail, and laker vessel and is part of the GROWMARK System, which handles 1.1 billion bushels of grain and oilseeds annually.

SALARY RANGE: $18.00-$20.00

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Under the direction of the Grain Warehouse Superintendent,this position is toassistin daily operational duties at the facility.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Responsible forassistingwithoperations atwarehouselocation.

Followsmaintenanceschedule of facility and equipment.

Assistswithinventory and distribution of products.

Responsible for inventory quality.

Weigh and grade inventory,shipments,and receipts.

Responsible for preventative maintenance andhousekeeping.

Blend andturnswarehouse product and material.

Assistsboth full-time and part-time operations personnel.

Maintains the facility, equipment,and companyimage.

Assistsinobtaining goals by improving efficiency and reducing costs.

Providesexcellent customer service.

Works withGrainWarehouse Superintendenton all safety and compliance issues.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

May berequiredto drive and run local errands as needed.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a high school diploma orthe equivalentthereof.

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

Ability to work extended hours, beyond those considered "normal",during busy time periods.

Must be willing to obtain andmaintaina forklift certificate and CDL.

Must have andmaintaina valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

Occasionally exposed orrequiredto:

  • Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)

  • Noisy conditions

  • Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards, requiringutilizationofappropriate safetymeasures

  • May berequiredto work at varying heights

  • Move up to 70 pounds

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
