Overview
The Vermont Agency of Transportation (AOT) is seeking a Financial Manager III to join the Finance Bureau's Business Support Services (BSS) team. This role is essential to daily budget operations for the Agency, including development, monitoring, reporting, and forecasting. In addition to critical budgetary development functions from August to January, the BSS team is also responsible for financial and management business functions of one or more divisions within the Agency - Highways, Maintenance, Central Garage, Finance & Administration, and Intermodal Development (including Rail, Aviation, Public Transit, Policy and Planning, Environmental Planning, and Rail Trails). Divisions frequently reach out to their BSS point of contact for guidance on purchasing and invoice approval, in addition to other ad hoc requests. The BSS team maintains frequent contact with their division(s) and ensures all budget line-item holders in the divisions have a comprehensive understanding of their budget and spending to date. The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate how they will provide excellent customer service as a business manager to their assigned AOT division(s). Who May Apply

Work is performed in a standard office setting. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a bachelor's degree in any discipline that includes or is supplemented by 20 credit hours in accounting AND three (3) or more years of professional level accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing, fiscal analysis, federal program fiscal administration or other professional level fiscal operations experience INCLUDING experience managing programs, funding sources or staff. OR Bachelor's degree in any discipline AND five (5) or more years of professional level accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing, fiscal analysis, federal program fiscal administration or other professional level fiscal operations experience INCLUDING experience managing programs, funding sources or staff. OR Associate's degree AND seven (7) years or more of professional level accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing, fiscal analysis, federal program fiscal administration or other professional level fiscal operations experience which has included experience managing programs, funding sources or staff. OR High School diploma AND nine (9) years or more of professional level accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing, fiscal analysis, federal program fiscal administration or other professional level fiscal operations experience which has included experience managing programs, funding sources or staff. OR One years as a Financial Manager II with the State of Vermont. Special Requirements
