JOB DESCRIPTION

The Facilities Technician II is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of building systems and equipment under the direction of the Manager, Facilities Engineering. This position supports the reliability and efficiency of critical building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems. The Facilities Technician II independently performs troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs to ensure optimal building performance and safety.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems

  • Monitor, adjust, and maintain building automation systems (BMS) for efficient operation

  • Conduct routine inspections and rounds of all building systems and equipment

  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues in a timely manner

  • Maintain chilled water systems and assist in water treatment and purification processes

  • Support testing and inspections of critical equipment, ensuring compliance with performance standards

  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and system documentation

  • Ensure adherence to all safety standards, utilizing appropriate protective equipment

  • Communicate effectively with management, peers, vendors, and contractors

  • Respond promptly to emergencies such as power outages, equipment malfunctions, or system alarms

  • Assist with inventory management, tools, and spare parts procurement

Work Environment

Essential duties are completed within the following conditions:

  • Work environments are both inside and outside, in climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled conditions
  • Exposure to wet, extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, mechanical hazards, radiant energy hazards, electrical hazards, explosive hazards and burn hazards
  • Climbing ladders and scaffolding as required to complete work
  • Working in a live broadcasting environment

  • Job will require the use of a company owned vehicle

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Strong knowledge of building systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems

  • Ability to interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics

  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

  • Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 360 applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • As part of a team supporting a 24/7/365 environment, flexibility with scheduling - including nights, weekends, and holidays - is essential to ensure seamless coverage and support

Education

  • Associate's degree (AA/AS) in a technical field preferred
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in facility maintenance or building engineering
  • Journeyman-level experience in mechanical or electrical trades preferred

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing disciplines are a plus

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $28.75-38.25 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
