Waymo's Product Management Team is a mission-driven team responsible for writing and enacting first-of-their-kind playbooks to bring fully autonomous driving technology to market. Our team develops simple solutions for complex problems by orchestrating cross-functional efforts to safely drive Waymo's technology and the products it enables forward. We do this by understanding the customer, the business, and the technology. We are humble about the scope of our work, collaborative in our approach to problem-solving, and ambitious about our vision for the future.

This role follows a hybrid work schedule and reports and you will report to a Director of Product Management.

You will:



  • Define and champion a compelling product vision and strategy for major components of the Waymo simulator, focusing on step-changes in realism, scale, and user experience through the application of AI/ML
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including product managers, operations, system engineering and safety experts to define product requirements
  • Collaborate deeply with Engineering, Research, Systems Engineering, Safety, and Operations teams to gather requirements, align on roadmaps, and ensure successful development and deployment of new simulation capabilities
  • Monitor and relentlessly improve simulator performance, realism, and efficiency, identifying key opportunities and driving a data-informed product development process


You have:



  • A BS degree in Computer Science, engineering, similar technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 6+ years of experience with at least 4+ years in product management, with a proven track record of owning and launching complex technical products
  • Strong technical acumen and experience in developing and launching products leveraging AI/ML, including familiarity with foundation models or generative AI
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders


We prefer:



  • Experience with simulation systems, robotics, autonomous vehicle technology, or game engines
  • Deep understanding of and experience in productizing AI/ML models, including large-scale foundation models
  • Knowledge of sensor simulation, synthetic data generation, or world modeling

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
