Job Description

The Controller - Manufacturing and Supply Chain reports to the Vice President Controller and is responsible for ensuring the operating and financial results of the company's manufacturing business unit (which includes 8 manufacturing facilities) are accurately and completely recorded and reported in a timely manner and in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

What your day will look like:
  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the UNITED policies and applicable laws
  • Builds positive associate morale
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production accountants
  • Analyze business results and develop programs to drive efficiencies and continuous improvement
  • Build and maintain relationships across all levels of the business
  • Directs and manages project implementation from beginning to end
  • Act as the primary accounting business partner for business unit meetings, answer questions and give guidance for handling issues that arise as well as convey policies as mandated by Corporate
  • Provide financial reporting and variance analysis to leadership
  • Manage the monthly closing and reporting processes
  • Support the audit of financial statements, working closely with internal and external auditors
  • Coordinates monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes
  • Leads budgeting activities
  • Conducts ad hoc analyses of the business unit's finances and prepares reports to facilitate decision making
  • UNITED financial lead for NPSG (National Product Supply Group) activities
  • Maintains all accounting records (general, property, etc.)
  • Designs and implements budgetary and other systems for internal control
  • Prepares financial reports for management, board members, and shareholders
  • Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management
What you need to succeed:
  • Valid driver's license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
  • Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
  • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels of the business
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and people management skills
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 5 years of experience in public accounting or 10 years of experience in a large corporate accounting environment
  • CPA license required
  • Strong knowledge of standard cost accounting required
  • 4+ years of people management experience required
  • SAP experience or other large ERP system experience preferred
  • Excellent understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles required

    Travel approximately 25-40% of the time to Division Sales Centers
Physical Requirements

Position will be required to comply with the CCBCU Personal Protective Equipment Program. Position is required to wear safety toed shoes when performing the following tasks: Operating Powered Industrial Equipment or Working in an Area where Powered Industrial Equipment is in use, Fleet Maintenance, Working with Palletized Product, Use of Hand Trucks/Dollies to Deliver Product, Cooler Services, etc.
