The Cardiac Cath Lab Manager leads and oversees the operations of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and compliance with healthcare standards. This manager role requires a dynamic leader with expertise in cardiovascular services, personnel management, and healthcare operations. The Cath Lab Manager will champion innovation, foster a collaborative team environment, and optimize lab efficiency.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but are not limited to):

  • Supervise day-to-day activities in the cardiac cath lab, ensuring efficient workload and optimal patient throughput.
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate a multidisciplinary team of nurses, technologists, and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, including Joint Commission, OSHA, and local health department guidelines.
  • Prepare and manage the cath lab budget, controlling costs while ensuring quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists and healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered care and streamline patient flow.
  • Facilitate patient and family education regarding procedures, postoperative care, and cardiovascular health.
  • Monitor lab equipment and supplies to maintain a state of readiness, including routine maintenance and inventory management.
  • Develop, implement, and update operational policies and procedures to improve clinical outcomes and lab efficiency.


Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

  • Must have a current and valid state license as a registered nurse.
  • BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  • A minimum of two years of supervisory/management experience is necessary.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  • Five (5) years of coronary care nursing and/or cardiovascular lab experience.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Proficient in interpreting EKGs and hemodynamic pressure tracings.
  • Operates Cardiovascular Laboratory equipment: pressure injectors, hemodynamic monitors, cardiac output computers, etc.
