Entry Level Design Engineer - Bridges & Structures

As part of our Bridges & Structures group, you'll collaborate with a team of passionate professionals who design innovative, efficient, and sustainable bridge solutions. From concept to completion, our experts partner closely with clients to deliver projects that are safe, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible. You'll gain hands-on experience across all phases of bridge design - from scoping and planning to preliminary and final engineering - and work on projects that range from small community crossings to large, complex structures that move people and economies forward. • Acquire knowledge and develop basic skills in bridge engineering.
• Apply learned techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
• Demonstrate the ability to prepare general engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
• Perform structural calculations on a particular part of a project under direction of supervisor.
• Assist with other project related tasks such as structural inspections, report writing, permit applications, and CAD work.
• Exercise judgment on details of work and work under direct supervision on all aspects of tasks assigned.
• Work within MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D to successfully complete projects.
• Apply awareness of structural codes (AASHTO, AISC, ACI, ASCE-7, IBC) to designs.
• Perform basic concrete and steel design for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and miscellaneous highway related structures.
• Utilize structural software at a basic level (MathCAD, Enercalc, Midas, STAAD, etc.).

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
• Engineer-in-training (EIT) certification is preferred.
• Increasing proficiency with Civil 3D and MicroStation CAD software is preferred.
• Ability to learn and apply technical skills and knowledge.
• Ability to effectively collaborate and contribute as part of a team.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $71,677 to $78,850 per year (depending on qualifications)
