This is a seasonal position starting 11/17, ending 12/23.

The Community Outreach Programs Assistant will provide general program and clerical support to the Community Outreach Programs Manager for the seasonal programs operated out of the Distribution Center.

About the role:



  • Maintains a physical presence to lend support during the registration for and distribution of toys during Toy Shop; the donation and distribution of coats during Coats for Kids.
  • Gathers seasonal program statistics, completes monthly statistical reports and submits this statistical information to the office of the Milwaukee County Social Services Director and Community Outreach Programs Manager.
  • Assists in providing oversight for the sorting and record keeping of program donations.
  • Ensures pictures are taken for the various seasonal program functions and events, and gathers stories to be shared with Community Relations.
  • Active engagement with and supervision of volunteers.
  • Provides clerical support for the Community Outreach Programs Manager, including scheduling and coordinating of team meetings, filing, data entry, preparing reports, etc.
  • Provides logistical support and maintains physical presence at any distribution center events.


Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Some post high school educational experience preferred.

Certifications: ServSafe certification (for Feed the Kids program); valid Wisconsin driver's license with clearance to drive from TSA's insurance is preferred.

Experience: A minimum two years of related work experience.
