JOB SUMMARY

As a Field Service Technician, you will work with some of the largest and most successful companies in the world and will receive top-notch training on industry-leading fire alarm systems and fire suppression equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Responsibilities



  • Schedule and coordinate service appointments with customers.





  • Accurately document inspection and testing results in company systems.





  • Respond to emergency service requests and provide timely resolutions.





  • Review inspection findings with customers and provide basic system training.





  • Maintain company tools and equipment and follow all safety and compliance standards.





  • Adhere to NFPA codes, AHJ regulations, and company policies.





  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Fire Alarm & Fire Suppression



  • Perform service on the majority of OPS System brands and applications.





  • Perform all inspection and testing tasks on fire alarm and special hazard fire suppression systems according to OPS work instructions.





  • Record inspection and test results in companies' electronic inspection program.





  • Respond to emergency service requests and take appropriate action.





  • Perform in depth trouble shooting, repair and replacement of system equipment.





  • Review inspection and test results with the customer.





  • Conduct training with customers on the functionality of the fire system.





  • Assist in installation and commissioning tasks.





  • Other duties as assigned.



Fire Sprinkler



  • Perform inspection and testing of fire sprinkler systems and components in accordance with NFPA standards and AHJ requirements.





  • Prepare and submit clear, detailed inspection reports and documentation.



MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE



  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.





  • Five years' experience in servicing electrical/mechanical systems in the fire alarm or special hazard fire suppression industry, required.





  • Experience reading blueprints, required.





  • Associate degree in electronics or related field, preferred.





  • NICET Level II Fire Alarm certification, required.





  • NICET Level II Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems, required





  • EL-06 License required.





  • Experience with the following manufacturers: Fike, Kidde, Potter, Silent Knight, Siemens, Vesda, and Notifier, preferred.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES



  • Knowledge of Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office products





  • Knowledge of Inspect Point





  • Strong time management skills.





  • Capable of using Windows-based software as well as mobile iPad applications.





  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.





  • Organized and detail-oriented.





  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.





  • Self-directed with the ability to work autonomously.





  • Demonstrated customer service mindset.



Work Environment/Physical Demands



  • This is a remote position that would be deployed from the associate's home to local job sites for installs, service, or repairs.





  • Company vehicle, tools, technology, and equipment provided.





  • Occasional on-call days and/or overtime required for unscheduled service needs.





  • Job duties require the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and crawl into tight or awkward places.





  • Overnight travel required up to 25% of the time.
