Position Overview:

The Research Associate will provide professional, substantive, technical, and administrative support to clinicians and researchers in the implementation, day-to-day operations, financial stewardship, management of timelines and deliverables, and dissemination of findings on research projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate and Manage Research Projects: Leads and supports research project planning, implementation, and closeout, including aligning resources, timelines, and deliverables. Ensures effective collaboration among investigators, project team, finance, and partner sites to achieve project goals as barriers arise.
  • Engage and Support Research Participants and Stakeholders: Recruits and manages study participants and collaborates with study advisors, research partners, and stakeholders to facilitate engagement and ensure adherence to research protocols and expectations.
  • Conduct and Support Data and Research Activities: Demonstrates and understanding of health services research and study design. Participates in translating and operationalizing study Applies quantitative and qualitative research skills to track, and ensure integrity of data. Manages data transfers, conducts quality control, and ensures alignment with study protocols and data agreements.
  • Ensure Research Compliance and Reporting: Oversees regulatory and compliance processes including IRB protocols, study agreements, and dissemination of findings. Prepares reports and communication materials such as manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations.
  • Facilitate Communication and Continuous Improvement: Schedules and leads project meetings, manages action items, and tracks progress toward milestones. Identifies and resolves issues, negotiates project adjustments, and fosters a culture of learning and improvement throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A Master's level research or health-related degree required.
  • A Minimum of 2 years of health-related research experience (degree or additional educational and training must be in a social, behavioral, health services, or other medical or public health field appropriate to the specific field of research required by the position).
  • Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
  • Constant interpersonal skills, teamwork, and customer service. Frequent creativity, mentoring, presentations/teaching. Occasional decision making and independent judgment or action.
  • Reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • This position requires a virtual home-office environment, working remotely.
  • The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and mobile devices.
  • Prior to moving forward to the team interview, all candidates are required to complete a 50-60-minute competency assessment. The assessment gives us insights into how your strengths, preferences, and work style align with the OCHIN's nine core competencies. Base Pay Overview

OCHIN uses broadened pay ranges to support equitable and market-aligned compensation practices. The final offer will be based on a variety of factors, including relevant skills, certifications, education, experience, training, responsibilities, internal equity, and market data.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Constant interpersonal skills, teamwork, and customer service. Frequent creativity, mentoring, presentations/teaching. Occasional decision making and independent judgment or action.
  • Reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • This position requires a virtual home-office environment, working remotely.
  • The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and mobile devices.
  • Travel is required to support OCHIN's business requirements for Go-Live installations or training which may require travel by air, vehicle, or train.

Work Location and Travel Requirements

OCHIN is a 100% remote organization with no physical corporate office location. Employees work remotely from home and many of our positions also support our member organizations on-site for new software installations. Nationwide travel is determined based on OCHIN business needs. Please inquire during the interview process about travel requirements for this position.
