Position Summary

The Senior Director, Emerging Technology Launch will drive the technical advisory and launch functions for emerging technology products and programs (e.g., AI, XR) within the Innovation and Digital Health Accelerator (IDHA) at Boston Children's Hospital. This leader will oversee the emerging technology launch portfolio, from implementation planning through impact measurement and digital validation, and will partner closely with IT to identify and execute scaling opportunities. Serving as both a technical and market subject matter expert, the Senior Director will advise on emerging technology sourcing, guiding build opportunities and strategic partnerships to address enterprise needs through AI and other innovative technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technology and market advisor for Innovation and Digital Health teams, fostering a progressive learning culture and vetting high-impact technology build and partnership opportunities.
  • Collaborate with IDHA and IT teams to define product launch strategies encompassing technical design, infrastructure, processes, and execution plans to ensure operational success and timely delivery.
  • Lead the launch and implementation planning of emerging technology products-both novel builds and vendor solutions-in collaboration with Innovation, Analytics, Experience Design, OGC, and IT partners.
  • Oversee the emerging technology launch portfolio (including AI and Intelligent Automation), monitoring performance, reporting outcomes, and coordinating with IDHA and IT leaders on scaling, sunsetting, and transition planning.
  • Manage key partnerships within the emerging technology portfolio, advising IDHA leadership on strategy, roadmap development, and return on investment aligned with institutional priorities.
  • Represent Boston Children's Hospital at external events and industry conferences to advance visibility, share insights, and foster collaboration within the broader healthcare innovation ecosystem.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of related experience required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Agile, start-up-oriented approach with a collaborative, cross-functional mindset.
  • Proven interpersonal leadership skills with the ability to drive change across technical and non-technical stakeholder groups.
  • Strong strategic and technical acumen in establishing product roadmaps and communicating complex concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and comfort working in a dynamic, rapidly evolving environment.
  • Business development experience with a growth mindset that integrates partnerships into overall technology strategy.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
