Position Summary The Loss Prevention Investigator is responsible for conducting detailed investigations into theft, fraud, and operational loss within the company's automotive service centers, distribution facilities, and regional offices. This position plays a crucial role in safeguarding company assets, enhancing operational integrity, and reducing shrinkage. The investigator will focus on internal and external theft, labor fraud, inventory manipulation, and procedural violations, partnering closely with Operations, HR, and Legal to ensure findings are addressed promptly and effectively. THIS POSITION IS HYBRID, 3 DAYS IN OFFICE AT OUR BALA CYNWYD LOCATION. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough investigations into internal and external theft, fraud, and policy violations, compiling evidence to support disciplinary or legal action.
- Utilize data analytics and exception reporting tools to identify patterns of suspicious activity and operational anomalies across service centers and facilities.
- Partner with Operations, HR, and Legal to ensure compliance with company policies and support corrective actions that mitigate future risk.
- Maintain detailed case files and generate clear, actionable reports to communicate findings and support decision-making by leadership.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 2-5 years of loss prevention, investigations, or law enforcement experience; retail automotive or service industry experience strongly preferred.
- Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI)
- Loss Prevention Certified (LPC) or Loss Prevention Qualified (LPQ)
- Proficiency with CCTV systems (OpenEye) and POS/ERP data analytics.
- Experience in conducting internal interviews and working with law enforcement agencies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of drafting professional investigative summaries.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential matters.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for case reporting and analysis.
- Ability to travel frequently (up to 50%) across assigned regions.
- Strong working knowledge of automotive repair operations, service workflows, and inventory handling.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods during investigations and audits.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Regular travel to stores, regional offices, and distribution centers required.
- Work hours may vary based on case urgency, including nights or weekends.
