Location: Remote - must be located in the United States and able to work East Coast business hours Duration: 4 months with potential to exend Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week **What You'll Do:** * Define and articulate the comprehensive design vision, strategy, and roadmap for a suite of enterprise software solutions, aligning with critical business objectives and user needs.
* Lead in-depth research (user, market, competitive, regulatory) to generate strategic insights that inform new product directions, feature prioritization, service ecosystems, workflows, and the evolution of design systems.
* Craft essential strategic artifacts including service blueprints, experience maps, ecosystem diagrams, journey maps, business model canvases, product-service system frameworks, and strategic design principles for the entire portfolio.
* Collaborate closely with product management and engineering to transform strategic design direction into actionable design execution, guiding UX/UI, information architecture, interaction models, content strategy, cross-platform consistency, and modular design system governance.
* Elevate the user experience by ensuring a consistent, enterprise-grade design language, coherent UI/UX patterns, scalable design system components, and a unified user experience across diverse software modules.
* Facilitate impactful cross-functional design workshops, co-creation sessions, stakeholder alignment meetings, and customer insights engagements to ensure design decisions are directly tied to business value, user outcomes, and market differentiation.
* Establish and evolve robust methodologies, processes, and governance for design strategy within the software organization, embedding design thinking throughout the entire product lifecycle, from concept through launch and iteration.
* Measure and clearly articulate the impact of design strategy on key outcomes such as user engagement, adoption, time-to-value, business KPIs, and brand perception, utilizing data to continuously refine strategy and design decisions.
* Mentor and influence fellow designers, UX researchers, service designers, and product stakeholders, fostering a culture of design maturity and excellence across the organization. **What You'll Bring:** * Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Design, Interaction Design, Service Design, HCI, Business Strategy, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
* 7+ years of progressive experience in design strategy, service design, experience design, product design, or similar roles.
* Demonstrated ability to translate user research, market insights, and business objectives into strategic design direction and deliver tangible design outcomes (e.g., journeys, ecosystems, service blueprints, modular design systems).
* Strong ability to communicate strategic and visual narratives effectively to executive stakeholders, presenting compelling design rationale, business impact, and roadmap alignment.
* Comfortable navigating ambiguity and capable of leading initiatives that forge new directions, influence cross-functional groups, and drive significant change within large organizations.
* Exceptional collaboration skills, adept at partnering with product management, engineering, research, marketing, and operations teams.
* Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Miro) and a solid understanding of modular design systems, design tokens, component libraries, and UX architecture. **Nice-to-Have Qualifications:** * Experience working with enterprise users and complex domains such as compliance, sustainability, supply chain, environmental health & safety (EHS), or data-intensive workflows.
