Hospital Lab Technician III - EC Pathology Lab - 137052

Under general supervision, performs technical work related to the storage of samples; clean-up and maintenance of the laboratory, supplies and evidence. Assist in the gross room when needed to: accession; cut frozen sections and grossing of surgical specimen. Under supervision, performs technical tasks and procedures to include preventative maintenance as appropriate in each section assigned. Perform all duties in a manner consistent with current laboratory safety standards. Assist in preparing/ maintaining compliance as established by regulating agencies such as CAP, TJC, OSHA and other federal and state agencies. Additional duties will include inventory and ordering of supplies, clerical, telephone, and communication with laboratory customers.

• Graduation from college with a major in an applicable natural science plus two years ofexperience in the kind of work to be performed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

• Laboratory training in a laboratory approved or accredited by ABHES, CAHEA, or otheragencies approved by HHS, OR, at least three months of documented laboratory training for high complexity testing.

• Two plus (2+) years of Grossing experience.

• Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
