Make it happen at Hopkins

The Johns Hopkins Hospital - The Blalock-Taussig-Thomas Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center provides the following pediatric cardiac services including heart transplant evaluation, the management of complex heart rhythm problems, congenital heart disease, fetal cardiology, general cardiology, genetic cardiology, and interventional cardiac catheterization. The clinic serves as the hub of all the complex services provided and is run by a multi-disciplinary team made up of physicians, nurses, certified medical assistants, respiratory therapists, and technicians. The RN will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, manage phone and EPIC messaging for the general pediatric cardiology patient population, support the anticoagulation program, and manage patient flow through clinic visits.

The ideal candidate for this role should have clinical experience in Pediatric Cardiology, preferably in Pediatric or Adult EP. They must possess excellent communication and organizational skills to convey complex medical information to patients and families. An eagerness to acquire new technical skills is essential, including working with pacemaker and ICD remote monitoring programs, scheduling complex cardiac procedures, and learning to download and check pacemakers and ICDs in both pediatric and adult congenital cases. Attention to detail is crucial for patient safety, so the ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and highly organized to maintain follow-up and to-do lists for physicians.

This position also involves a significant teaching component, which includes providing pre- and post-procedure instructions and educating families on proper pacemaker and ICD care after implantation. You will collaborate closely with an experienced senior Peds EP nurse and two pediatric electrophysiologists in the clinic and occasionally on the wards. Our team is compassionate and dedicated to caring for some of the most vulnerable and challenging pediatric patients, and we're seeking someone who shares our commitment.

With passionate and driven leaders' support, our nurses are able to dedicate themselves to patient safety, clinical excellence, and life-long learning. Take the forward step towards success and come experience the Hopkins Way!
