Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

Archaeologist | Atlanta, GA

VHB's Atlanta office is seeking a temporary Archaeology Lab Intern to support our team in the laboratory for approximately 4 hours per week. This position focuses on assisting with the processing, cataloging, preserving, and analyzing materials recovered from archaeological investigations, as well as helping with day-to-day lab operations.

Responsibilities

    Process, catalog, and preserve artifacts
  • Assist with artifact photography and inventory
  • Help prepare artifacts for curation
  • Support report production and formatting related to artifact analysis
  • Assist with lab organization and daily tasks

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Team-oriented but able to work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Basic knowledge of photography/digital camera use
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle time-sensitive tasks
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a master's degree in anthropology, archaeology or a related field.
