Location: Jackson, MI Inpatient/Outpatient: 40% Inpatient, 60% Outpatient. Case Load: 100% Adult Position Overview: Henry Ford Health - Jackson is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Gastroenterology team in a full-time role. This position involves providing comprehensive outpatient care in a collaborative clinic setting, with 2-3 exam rooms and 2-3 support staff per provider. The APP will see an average of 18 clinic patients per 9-hour day, including approximately 12 new patients daily. There is no OR time associated with this role. While new graduates are welcome to apply, preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in Family Medicine or Gastroenterology. The ideal candidate will be patient-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality care in a supportive team environment. Schedule - Rotation of inpatient and outpatient days with 3-4 other APPs with shifts of 8, 10, 12 hours. Typically, 6 inpatient days and 10 outpatient days each month. GENERAL SUMMARY: The Specialty/Invasive Physician Assistant (PA) will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The Specialty/Invasive PA will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families. Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience. Works in any of the following departments: Cardiovascular Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Interventional Radiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Oncology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pulmonary Medicine, Surgery, Urgent Care, Urology. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree or Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Requires Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National. Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current ACLS/BLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required. Qualifications: * NP - Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) * PA - Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) * NP - Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan * PA - Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Licensure and Certification * Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application) * National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA) * Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required. * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. * DEA/CSL, required through credentialing. * DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL. Experience * Experience in family medicine or gastroenterology, preferred. * EPIC Experience, preferred.
