Overview The Nexus Water Group team has an opportunity for a Field Technician I (Part-Time). Responsible for maintaining and cleaning water/wastewater systems; identifying water meter equipment problems; and performing water meter and/or system maintenance activities. Work Location and Schedule This position will travel between service areas near Choudrant, LA. Schedule part-tim for 29 hours or less a week. After-hour and weekend on-call support is required once a month. What You'll Bring Experience 1-2 years of mechanical work experience Education High School diploma or equivalent; valid driver's license with acceptable driving record; Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic skills with Microsoft Suite of applications Ability to read meters, charts, and gauges Ability to read and comprehend written technical information and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Ability to perform mathematical equations to determine chemical doses for flow rates and treatment Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to operate, maneuver, and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, and tools Work Environment Extreme physical demands, including lifting (50 lbs.), walking (10+ miles daily), climbing and mechanical repair.
