What to Expect
Tesla is currently recruiting for a dedicated, motivated, and accomplished Equipment Maintenance Planner that will support the Megafactory Equipment Maintenance and Engineering teams. The role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve work force productivity, and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access. Maintenance Planners are critical in helping to ensure, or extend the life expectancy of equipment, and therefore aiding in the total reduction of maintenance costs and increased throughput of equipment. This individual will act as a key liaison between Production Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to ensure value added, critical sustaining work is done with a high degree of efficacy and professionalism.This role will report to the Equipment Maintenance Manager(s).

What You'll Do
  • Utilizing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), plan, and schedule corrective, and preventative maintenance activities outlined by the internal maintenance and/or production engineering teams and management, by task and priority level to the maintenance teams (Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Annually, Bi-Weekly etc.)
  • Own asset classification and management of adding new equipment assets as needed with new line products, and assembly equipment installations
  • Lead/Organize the job or work planning process for medium-high level priority projects; spanning various timeframes; and ability to do so on short-notice as production needs dictate
  • Coordinate, and itemize plant shutdown worklists, orders, and assignment of task owners by shift, team, and execution dates. Identify labor, materials, tools, and safety requirements for maintenance work orders
  • Coordinate outside vendor, and/or contractor support where needed; from initial RFQ, PO-drafting, and on-site work scope planning and execution
  • Reduce cost of maintenance operations; while improving responsiveness, minimizing downtime and interruptions to overall operations, applying technical and maintenance experience to analyze overall job scopes; and fill gaps in maintenance operations

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Engineering, Technology, Business Analytics, or a related vocational program, and/or equivalent in industrial work experience is preferred
  • Evidence of exceptional abilities in task management, technical aptitude, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with equipment maintenance planning in a high-volume manufacturing environment; or fleet/military/flight line management
  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician or Engineer in a high-volume manufacturing environment is favorable. Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).Previous experience with ERP/MRP Systems is a plus
  • Experience reading, writing, and interpreting mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and work instructions. Ability to breakdown large scopes into technical documentation, and processes is desired
  • Must have a strong command of the english lanuage, both written and verbal
Essential Physical Demands
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
  • Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
  • Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
  • Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day
  • Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
  • Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to:safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, arm protection, and adheringto prescribed safety rules and guidelines

    Expected Compensation
    $68,400 - $189,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
