The Plant Manager is responsible for effectively planning, directing and coordinating all activities for the powder and plastisol manufacturing operations at assigned plant. These activities include safety, environmental, quality, production and cost.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides direction, ensures resources, and manages programs to ensure the plant's safety and environmental performance meets established goals.
  • Develops and implements plans to reduce waste, meet applicable regulatory standards, and handles emergency situations that may arise at the Site.
  • Develop a plant operating plan that is consistent with and supports the overall business plan.
  • Determines what resources are required to successfully implement the operating plan and then secure them.
  • Ensures standards for product quality, equipment, and operator performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is used to maximize production.
  • Develops a capital plan to improve plant operations.
  • Develops Lean Six Sigma plan to improve plant performance and efficiencies.
  • Ensures plant performs at or below annual budgeted cost levels.
  • Develops employees through training, involvement programs, and other programs to create a strong team environment.
  • Identifies development opportunities and provides subordinates opportunities to meet career development plans.
  • Represents Avient to the external community professionally and positively.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Physical/Environ. Demands

Requires standing and sitting for extended periods of time, talking, and listening. Must be able to walk and use hands. Occasionally requires bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and stairs. May occasionally be required to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Typically, work is in a manufacturing environment where the noise level is loud. Generally requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, a hard hat, and respiratory protection. Exposure
to outside weather conditions is routine. May be exposed to working in extreme heat and humidity. May also be exposed on occasion to dust or fumes.


  • Bachelor's degree required
  • At least 7 years of experience leading a team required
  • At least 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required

Final compensation within this range may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
