The Rutgers Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation (
CAIT) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate in the broad area of innovative materials for transportation infrastructure with applications in civil (geotechnical/material) engineering, industrial scale economics, and transportation infrastructure performance. The successful candidate will lead research activities into the use and value of industrial byproducts in transportation infrastructure in support of a United States Department of Transportation funded initiative. The candidate will collaborate closely with several research groups at Rutgers as well as with national and international academic, governmental, and industrial partners. |

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Industrial Systems Engineering, Material Science, or a closely related field.
- The candidate is expected to have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- geomaterial performance assessment and modeling,
- life cycle assessment,
- infrastructure performance and design,
- supply chain management,
- systems thinking and modeling.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with high proficiency in technical writing and editing.
- The successful candidate is expected to be self-motivated with the ability to think broadly and conceptually to formulate creative, sophisticated solutions to complex problems while prioritizing the workload and working independently with general supervision.
