What Your Job Will Be Like

We are seeking an Administrative Support professional to support the Weapons and Forced Protection Program that delivers mission-based projects with real world tangible impact to improving national security. A detail-oriented, positive, and proactive candidate is sought for this position on our team.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Work with stakeholders and executive teams to organize logistics for incoming tours, ensuring a seamless visitor experience.
  • Provide logistical support for outgoing visits, especially with sponsors, and assist in setting up venues for meetings like Project Management Reviews (PMRs).
  • Review and manage schedules, assist with conference room reservations, and confirm logistics for both internal and external visits to prevent conflicts.
  • Work with team members to maintain a consistent and professional look for 6500 presentations and keep the repository updated.
  • Organize shared drives and channels into a single repository for easier access to information.
  • Help maintain and review common zipper plans quarterly for accuracy.
  • Assist administrative staff in their daily tasks and promote a collaborative environment by sharing best practices to improve office efficiency.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Salary Range

$41,000 - $74,500

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience in the following:
    • Coordinate meetings, execute projects, and communicate/interact with support services.
    • Performs administrative support tasks for a specific function, project, or organization.
    • Gathers, collects, records, tracks, and verifies data and information from multiple sources.
    • Reviews and analyzes data and information and reconciles report discrepancies.
    • Uses common office software and proprietary software to compile and generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, and graphs; to review status of projects and budgets; and to create presentations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire

  • Experience in the following:
    • Coordinate meetings, execute projects, and communicate/interact with support services.
    • Performs administrative support tasks for a specific function, project, or organization.
    • Skilled in identifying long-term goals and determining actionable steps to achieve them.
  • Active DOE Q-level or DOD equivalent security clearance.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain trusting relationships.
About Our Team

The Weapons and Forced Protection Programs is responsible for planning, development, design, testing, implementation, and evaluation of complex physical security systems to protect critical national security assets and defense capabilities. The program delivers mission-based projects with real-world tangible impact to improving nation security. Projects are executed through SME's in the areas of risk analysis, intrusion detection, video assessment, communications, entry control, alarm communication and display, and response force planning. These SMEs are developed internally with extensive hands-on training and external educational opportunities.

Security Clearance

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
