ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Global Risk Manager, you will report to the Director, Risk Management. You will have responsibility for the placement and management of SC Johnson's global and domestic insurance programs, including exposure data collection and claims management. Operating in a team environment, the individual must possess leadership initiative, analytical skills, and have the ability to manage and coordinate internal and external relationships while successfully facilitating multiple tasks simultaneously. You will also serve as the liaison with international subsidiaries pertaining to local policy placements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage/Lead the placement of global and domestic insurance programs such as international liability, stock throughput, fine arts, aviation, and Business Travel Accident.

  • Perform underwriting data collection for the development of annual underwriting submissions for all risk transfer insurance programs.

  • Analyze cost benefit of various insurance program structures and make appropriate recommendations to the Director, Risk Management for programs that the Risk Manager will lead.

  • Manage the annual process for completing the corporate insurance budget and allocation.

  • Serves as the subject matter expert to various business units and business partners to include providing guidance on insurance policy coverage and contract interpretation pertaining to insurance

  • Claims Management: responsible for oversight of the TPA (Third Party Administrator) and claims management including general liability, auto liability, stock through put, and international casualty; including oversight of quarterly claim reviews for all lines of coverage

  • Review contracts for various business units and recommend appropriate insurance and limitation of liability terms to protect the Company.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree (Risk Management, Finance or Business Administration preferred)

  • Minimum of 7 years progressive experience in the corporate risk management field such as property risk management/loss control, claims management, and insurance program placement/management.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • Previous experience in Corporate Risk Management, International Risk Management and Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Strong interpersonal skills to interface with all levels of employees (subsidiary and corporate levels)

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task with minimal supervision, maintaining confidential information in all aspects of the job

  • Strategic planning and project management experience

  • ARM or CPCU designation a plus

  • Keen attention to detail and analytical ability

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Full time

  • Travel 1-2 times per year (domestic and/or international)

  • Remote work is available once a week for eligible employees

  • This role is not eligible for domestic relocation
