Overview
The Vermont Department of Financial Regulation is seeking an Assistant Director for Consumer Services. This is an opportunity to lead the Consumer Services Section of the Insurance Division, which helps Vermonters navigate insurance issues and resolve insurance complaints. The ideal candidate is an experienced insurance professional with proven supervisory skills and the ability to interpret and apply complex insurance laws, regulations, and policy provisions. Consumer Services investigates and mediates insurance complaints and provides educational outreach to the public, so the Assistant Director must be an effective communicator able to explain complex issues clearly and mediate conflicts with professionalism and empathy. Duties are performed in a standard office setting. Occasional travel may be required for which private means of transportation may be necessary. The job role involves individuals in potential adversary situations, and under some degree of stress. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, finance, accounting or a related field of study and four (4) or more years of experience working in the field of property/casualty, life or health insurance that includes two (2) years in an administrative or supervisory role. OR Six (6) or more years of experience working in the field of property/casualty, life or health insurance that includes two (2) years in an administrative or supervisory role. Total Compensation
