From your PASSION to ours

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager will manage the Environmental, Health & Safety Programs at the plant. The EHS Manager will partner with the site leadership team and the corporate EHS team to manage activities involved in establishing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by following OSHA requirements and other recognized guidelines and regulations.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

Uphold continuous improvement in the areas of environmental, health, and safety:

  • Be an active role model for all company environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Establish effective relationships with management and employees.
  • Participate in regular operations meetings to discuss workplace safety, environmental and regulatory concerns.
  • Lead Employee Safety Committee.
  • Promote Safety Observation process to increase quantity and quality of safety conversations.
  • Conduct facility inspections and audits to identify and correct potential hazards.
  • Review potential changes to layout, process, or equipment for health and safety implications.
  • Facilitate investigations of all injuries, illnesses, "near misses" and suggestions.
  • Support the development and implementation of appropriate corrective and preventative actions.

Develop, implement and manage required training programs and maintain organized records and recurring due dates:

  • Deliver all EHS related training for all employee (new hires and annual trainings)
  • Maintain all records of training, being prepared to present at any time.

Maintain internal and external reporting, including data collection and reporting:

  • Ensure company meets compliance obligations at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Schedule and maintain records of all required inspections and testing.
  • Submit First Report of Injury and maintain and submit OSHA logs as required.
  • Manage Contractor Safety program, including training and monitoring.
  • Keep department managers informed of matters relating to environmental, health, and safety.
  • Keep abreast of any laws or regulation changes that may impact the company.
  • Serve as primary emergency response coordinator for plant emergencies.
  • Work with Plant Leadership to ensure Site's EHS compliance.
  • Work with Corporate parent to implement site initiatives and division EHS programs.

From your STORY to ours

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

  • Bachelor's degree Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety, or similar field
  • Preferred- Minimum 5 years' proven EHS experience preferably within the food manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge of basic state/country EHS and NFPA regulations
  • Professional certificates or licenses are preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with: OSHA General Industry Standards; Electrical Safe Work Practices; Confined Space Rescue; Powered Industrial Truck training; Blood Borne Pathogen Training.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedures and policies.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
  • Computer Skills: MS Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)
